Sports rehabilitation.
Build your return.

A measured path from injury or pain towards the activity you enjoy.

Whether you play cricket, run, train at the gym or exercise for enjoyment, rehabilitation starts with understanding your symptoms and the demands of your activity. We build the plan around your current capacity and goals.

Understanding your needs

From everyday movement to sport.

A painful movement does not establish a diagnosis. Assessment identifies when rehabilitation is suitable and when an injury needs medical investigation.

Muscle strains and joint sprains

A sudden stretch or twist can affect muscles, tendons or ligaments. Severity and recovery needs vary.

Our focusRestore comfortable movement and gradually rebuild strength and loading once assessment supports this.

Tendon and repetitive-load pain

Running, jumping or repeated training may become painful after changes in workload or recovery.

Our focusReview activity and progress exercise at a tolerable level, adjusting the plan to your response.

Knee, ankle and shoulder concerns

Giving way, limited movement or pain can affect both daily tasks and sport.

Our focusAssess function and movement demands; locking, major swelling or suspected instability may require specialist care.

Rehabilitation after surgery

Ligament, tendon or joint surgery comes with individual restrictions and healing considerations.

Our focusFollow your surgeon’s protocol and coordinate progression rather than rushing to a calendar deadline.

Strength and movement control

Feeling better at rest is not the same as being ready to sprint, throw or land.

Our focusBuild capacity for the movements your activity requires, with technique practice where appropriate.

Returning to training

Confidence and tolerance may change as training becomes longer, faster or more demanding.

Our focusMove from controlled practice towards training and sport using reviewed goals and appropriate clearance.

Your assessment and care

Progress that earns the next step.

Your symptoms, function and sport demands guide progression. Pain relief alone is not a return-to-play test.

  1. Understand the injury and workload

Discuss how symptoms began, your usual training, past injuries and what you want to return to. Review available reports and medical restrictions.

  2. Restore a useful starting point

Assess movement, strength and daily function. Agree suitable activity adjustments while maintaining safe movement where possible.

  3. Build sport-relevant capacity

Progress strength, balance, coordination and endurance, with later tasks such as hopping or change of direction only when appropriate.

  4. Plan the return

Review response to practice and training. After surgery or significant injury, return decisions may also involve your surgeon or sports physician.

No fixed number of sessions or guaranteed return date applies to everyone. Report worsening pain, swelling or instability rather than pushing through to meet a target.

Before your visit

A little clarity.
Less uncertainty.

Do I need a scan before physiotherapy?

Not every injury needs imaging. Assessment helps decide whether medical review or a scan is appropriate. Bring any existing reports; do not delay urgent care for a serious injury while arranging physiotherapy.

Can I keep training?

This depends on the injury and your symptoms. Some activities may be adapted while others need a pause. Agree suitable loading and warning signs with your clinician rather than training through worsening symptoms.

When can I return to my sport?

Return depends on function, strength, movement control, confidence and the demands of the sport, as well as healing and any surgical restrictions. A date or absence of pain alone is not enough.

Is this only for competitive athletes?

No. The same assessment-led approach can support recreational exercise, gym activity, running and local sport. Goals are tailored to your starting point.

Will machines speed up my recovery?

A modality may sometimes help symptoms, but it is not a substitute for appropriate rehabilitation and recovery. We assess whether any additional treatment has a clear purpose and review its value.
